Privacy Policy
Draft — for review by a licensed attorney before publishing. This is review-ready draft copy prepared by the Astoundz team, grounded in how this website actually works today. It is not legal advice and is not final. A Texas-licensed attorney must review and approve it, and every [PLACEHOLDER] below must be filled in, before this page is treated as complete or goes live.
Last updated: [PLACEHOLDER: date to be set on the day this is approved and published]
The short version
We ask for as little as possible — your email address, and whatever you choose to tell us in a message. We do not sell it, rent it, or trade it. You can leave any time and we will not make it hard. The longer version is below, in plain language, because a privacy policy nobody can read isn't really a policy.
This site is run by Tatiana Schallert, doing business as The Love Faery, in Texas. Throughout this policy, “we” and “us” mean her. [PLACEHOLDER: Tatiana/Caleb to confirm the final contracting entity — she operates today as a sole proprietor; if a single-member LLC is formed before launch, this line should name the LLC instead.]
What we collect
When you join the Faery Circle (our email list): your email address, and the date and time you signed up. If you sign up through a form that records it, we may also keep the IP address you signed up from, so we can show you asked to be here — it protects you as much as it protects us.
When you send us a message: your name, your email address, anything else the contact form asks for, and whatever you write — plus whether you also chose to join the Faery Circle.
Automatically, when any website is visited: our hosting provider, Netlify, Inc., records standard server information — the IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the date and time — kept under Netlify's own retention practices, which are not ours to set.
Why we collect it
To send you what you asked for. To write back to you. To keep the site working and secure. That is the whole list. We rely on your consent for the email list (you asked to join, and you can withdraw any time) and on our legitimate interest in answering you when you write to us.
Who else touches it
Only the companies that make the site run, and only for that purpose:
- Netlify, Inc. (United States) — hosts this website, keeps standard server logs, and delivers our contact and Faery Circle form submissions to a real inbox. No separate form vendor is used.
- Email-sending service: as of this update, Faery Circle sign-ups are collected the same way our contact form is (through Netlify, above), and no separate email-sending service is connected yet — so no Faery Circle email has gone out through a third-party sender. [PLACEHOLDER: Tatiana/Caleb to name the email-sending provider here once regular Faery Circle emails begin; this page must be updated before the first campaign.]
We may also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, or to protect someone's safety. If the business is ever sold or transferred, information may pass to the new owner under the same promises made here.
What we never do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade it. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We do not build advertising audiences from anything you read here — not from the gatherings pages, not from anything about faith. That is a deliberate line, and we intend to hold it.
Cookies, analytics, and tracking
There are no advertising or social-media tracking pixels on this site — no Meta pixel, no ad-network tags — and no website analytics installed as of this page's last update. If any of that ever changes, this page changes first, before anything new loads.
Because there is no advertising audience here, there is nothing to opt out of for targeted advertising. On the technical side: our current form and sign-up intake runs through Netlify, a third party we do not operate ourselves, so we cannot yet have our own code read and act on a Global Privacy Control browser signal the way our own infrastructure could. We do not sell or share your information, so there is nothing being done that such a signal would need to stop. If our setup ever changes, this paragraph changes with it before we claim otherwise.
The Faery Circle (email)
We recommend a confirmed opt-in: you enter your address, then click a link in a confirmation email, so nobody can sign you up but you. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm double opt-in is enabled once the email-sending service is connected.] Every email we send will carry a one-click unsubscribe and our mailing address at the bottom. Unsubscribe requests are honored within ten business days, and usually within minutes.
You must be 18 or older to join.
Our mailing address will appear here before we send our first Faery Circle campaign, as the CAN-SPAM Act requires. [PLACEHOLDER: Tatiana/Caleb to provide a P.O. Box or CMRA mailing address — the home address is never published, per brand governance; this blocks the first email campaign until it exists.]
Your choices and your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy, and you can opt out of marketing email any time. Texas residents have these rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act; residents of California and other states with privacy laws have similar rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of them.
To make a request, write to us using the contact page and tell us what you want. [PLACEHOLDER: Tatiana/Caleb to provide a dedicated privacy contact email.] We may ask a question or two to confirm it's really you. We'll respond within 45 days, and we'll tell you if we honestly need longer. If we say no, you can appeal by replying to that answer, and you can contact the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.
Children
This site is for adults. You must be 18 or older to join the email list or register for anything we offer. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have, we delete it. If you're a parent or guardian and you think your child gave us information, please write to us and we'll take care of it.
How long we keep it
- Faery Circle subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression record kept afterward so a re-added address is never emailed again after you opt out.
- The IP address recorded at sign-up (where one is recorded): purged after 90 days; the fact that you gave consent is kept separately as proof.
- Contact-form messages: kept only as long as we need them to respond to you and keep a reasonable record. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm a message-retention period — proposed default is 24 months, pending attorney sign-off.]
- Server logs: whatever Netlify, our host, keeps by default — a window we do not control.
How we protect it
We use ordinary, reasonable safeguards, and we keep what we collect small on purpose — the less we hold, the less there is to protect. We'll also be honest with you: no website anywhere is perfectly secure.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Real changes get announced to the Faery Circle, not slipped in quietly.
How to reach us
[PLACEHOLDER: Tatiana/Caleb to provide a published contact email and a P.O. Box mailing address, City, TX, ZIP.] In the meantime, use the contact page.
