Sound Bath Houston: A Sacred Gathering — Space to Set the Week Down
Come set something heavy down — an evening of sound, stillness, and yes, prayer, held together, in community.
What Happens at a Sacred Gathering
A Sacred Gathering or Sound Bath is an experiential, spiritual and artistic practice — voice, instruments, stillness, and prayer, held in a shared space. It's not a class, and it's not therapy. You come as you are and settle in.
“Voice activation” — a term you may see used here and on the retreat page — is Tatiana's own name for a practice of releasing physical, emotional, and energetic blocks that get in the way of authentic vocal expression. It's an artistic and spiritual practice, not a clinical or medical one.
What These Words Mean
A few terms get used loosely in this space, so here's what they actually mean here: a sound bath is an evening built around live sound — instruments and voice — meant to help you rest and be still. A sacred gathering is the broader term for any of these evenings, whether the focus is sound, prayer, cacao, or simply community. Neither is a form of therapy, and neither promises a particular result — they're an experience you have, not a treatment you receive.
Why Sound and Stillness, Together
Tatiana trained classically from age three through a scholarship at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and spent years leading worship and singing as Concert Mistress at Corban University before any of this became a Sacred Gathering. That's the same instinct behind these evenings: sound and stillness held together, not performance and audience. She's also been featured in a feature interview with Voyage Houston, who covered her training and her path to these gatherings in more detail — the same throughline that shows up in every gathering: real training, held loosely, in service of the room.
Who It's For
For anyone carrying something heavy, and for the ones who quietly wonder if they're too much or not enough. No experience or spiritual background required — just an openness to be present.
What to Bring
Comfortable clothing, something to sit or lie on if the venue asks, and an open mind. Specific guidance for each gathering — location, timing, what's provided — is sent when you RSVP.
How Often Gatherings Happen
Gatherings don't run on a fixed public calendar. Dates are announced as they're scheduled, with the Faery Circle email list hearing first — sometimes weeks ahead, sometimes with less notice, depending on space and season.
A Note Before You Come
Tatiana Schallert is a musician, voice coach, and gathering facilitator. She is not a physician, psychologist, licensed counselor, therapist, or other licensed healthcare provider, and nothing offered at a gathering is medical care, mental-health treatment, diagnosis, or a substitute for either. If you're navigating a health concern, please see a licensed professional. If you're in crisis, call or text 988.
The next gathering date goes out to the Faery Circle first, then gets posted here.
